From time immemorial, the Japanese people have had a strong connection with the earth. They believed the land upon which they dwelled was placed in the sea by a goddess and that it was blessed. The mountains were very important to the religion, first to Shintoisim and later to Buddhism, as they believed that a different deity dwelled in each mountain. To this day, the mountains are holy places.
Our Yama swords are like the mountains after which they’re named; sturdy and reliable. These are our heavy cutters with strong geometry and are clay tempered. They are designed to go through heavy targets such as green bamboo and multiple rolled mats. Close attention to detail has been paid to their koshirae and they are based off historical designs.
