The Hatamoto was one of the highest ranks a Samurai could achieve. The term Hatamoto translates to "Banner man." However, the Hatamoto were much more than simply banner carriers. The Hatamoto was a status that allowed the Samurai to have an audience with the Shogun. These were the most courageous and loyal retainers of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Features

Blade: The blade of the sword has been hand made with High Carbon Steel. The Carbon has been hammered out through the blade so that it has a universal hardness throughout the entire blade. A Hamon has been added to the cutting edge of the blade. The blade comes Razor sharp with a full tang design.
Saya: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a black high gloss finish. A black cord Sage-O has been tied around the bright copper Kurigata of the scabbard. The Koiguchi has been hardened.
Tsuba: The habaki of the sword is a one piece brass construction. The guard is the black wagon wheel design as seen in the show.
Tsuka: The Tsuka of the sword has been wrapped with black imitation sued over black imitation ray skin. The Kashira of the sword is a Samurai warrior.
Strap: The back strap is imitation leather and fits over the end of the scabbard.
