The Scythe is an ancient tool of both the Greeks and the Romans. Herodotus recorded that there existed a nomadic tribe that used the Scythe to harvest Cannabis. The Scythians passed their customs and tools to other races they encountered.

By the time of the Romans the Scythe had become deeply ingrained in the culture, in fact Saturn was depicted with a Scythe in hand. The Scythe made a reappearance during the European middle ages. During this time the Scythe took on a darker meaning. It was strongly associated with Death and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
