Description Item Specs   Bishamon is the Japanese Kami (or God) of war and evil. He is the patron of the warriors of Japan as well as the punisher of the evil. He is one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, according to Shinto belief. He is also one of the Four Guardian Gods protecting one of the Cardinal points, the North. According to legend he was called upon and came to the Prince Shotoku in 587 during the anti-Buddhist clans of Japan. This is the Nagamaki. The length of the handle gives the sword superb leverage increasing the cutting power. The tang of the sword runs almost the entire length of the Tsuka. This is an impressive Katana perfect for display but also fully functional. The katana includes a FREE sword bag but 1 tier sword stand is not included. A Bo-Hi has been added down the entire length of the blade with an additional Bo-Hi running down half the length of the blade. The two Bohi reduce the weight of the blade as well as provide audible feedback. A false edge has been added to the point of the blade The blade is full tang and comes very sharp. Saya: The Saya is wooden with a high gloss black finish. A cotton sageo has been tied around the wooden Kurigata. The Koiguchi has been hardened and reinforced. Tsuba: The Habaki is a one piece steel construction over a brass Seppa. The actual tsuba is blackened iron constructed in the profile of a fearsome Kami. Tsuka: The Tsuka is massive with black Same (ray skin) and black cotton ito. The tang runs almost the entire length of the handle with three bamboo Mekugi. Two oxidized copper Menkui are one each side of the Tsuka.
